Website Design & Development Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) apply to all website design and development projects undertaken by The Rutland Webdesigner Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) for the client (“you”, “your”). By paying the project deposit, you agree to these terms.
Project Brief & Deposit
- A project brief will be agreed upon before any work starts.
- A non-refundable 50% deposit of the total project cost is required to secure the booking and commence work.
Planning & Discovery
- A meeting will be arranged to confirm the website architecture and discuss your ideal client and market positioning.
- Any research we undertake will be scoped at this stage.
Wireframe & Website Structure
- We will present the agreed wireframe (web tree/architecture) for your review and sign-off.
Homepage Wireframes
- Once the wireframe is signed-off, initial homepage wireframes will be designed and presented for feedback.
- This marks the start of the design process.
Content Responsibility
- You are responsible for providing all content for the website, including text, images, graphics, logos, and any other materials required.
- Content must be supplied in a timely manner. Delays in content delivery may delay the project.
Homepage Design Review
- We will present the homepage design for feedback.
- Revisions will be made in line with the agreed brief.
Design of All Other Pages
- Once the homepage is approved, all other pages will be designed for review and sign-off.
Development & Payment
- Once all designs are approved, the project will move into the development stage.
- A further 25% payment of the total project cost is due at this stage.
Functional Site Review
- You will be given the opportunity to review the functional website to ensure everything works as intended.
Deployment to Live Server
- The site will be deployed to our live server for final checks.
Post-Flight Checks
- We will perform a series of post-launch checks to ensure functionality, compatibility, and performance.
Final Payment
- The outstanding balance (25%) is due before the site is made live.
- No website will be launched until full payment has been received.
Website Go-Live & Support
- Once full payment is received, the website will be set live.
- We provide 30 days of complimentary support for bug fixes and technical issues directly related to our work.
- Any further changes, updates, or ongoing support after this period will be subject to a separate agreement.
Additional Terms
- Intellectual Property: You confirm you own or have permission to use all content you supply. Copyright in the website design belongs to us until full payment has been received, after which ownership transfers to you.
- Timelines: While we aim to meet agreed deadlines, we are not responsible for delays caused by late content, feedback, or third-party services.
- Revisions: The design process includes reasonable revisions as part of each stage. Significant changes outside the agreed brief may incur additional costs.
- Liability: We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of your website.
